Star Wars Lego Birthday

It's so hard to believe we just had Myles sixth birthday.  We really had a great time celebrating with my little man and his adorable little friends. Myles loves the color green and Star Wars legos, but who doesn't love Star Wars legos, so I tried to incorporate that into his one of a kind party.

Since this was his special day I let Myles choose the theme, colors and location.  Normally we have his party at home but this year I let him choose and that made the party planning all the more challenging. He really wanted to have his party at the kids play zone called Yabadoo.  I don't blame him there are bouncy castles, trampolines, a giant inflatable mountain they call the volcanoe and a train.  A blast for any child but a challenge for decorating.  I was determined to make it unique and fun and still let him have a great time.
It started with this image that I found at the Star Wars Lego website. It had all the colors, his favorite characters and my son loved it.  So I went from there and made a cake and table to match it.  I did tons of research for this party and there are tons of Star Wars inspired parties out there.

I set the table with Jedi water bottles, star wars napkins and Jedi Tshirts for each child.  Since there was no place to hang a party banner I created a table runner and made my own conffetti with a paper star punch.  I also made a Star Wars themed treats table.  Thanks goodness it wasn't a busy day at the play area and there were plenty of extra tables for us to use.

There were of course Star Wars themed sweets and treats.  With Endor Edibles (veggies and dip),

Degobah Dawgs (pigs in a blanket)

Mini Lightsabers, which where pretzels dipped in blue and green white chocolate candy melts.  I saw this done on several different party sites and thought it was the cutest thing. I also happen to love chocolate covered pretzels so that was a no brainer.

We also had Cheesesabers which were just cheese puffs.

Then there where Wookie Cookies which actually came from the Star Wars cookbook. Who knew there was a Star Wars cookbook? Well you do now. I found the recipe on epicurious.com and it is just chocolate chip cookies with cinnamon. They turned out very tasty and who can pass up a cookie named after a Wookie.

Thanks to the iron-on T-shirts I created we had little Jedi's everywhere.

We even had Jedi staging mini lightsaber battles.

The Jedi T-shirts were irons I designed in Photoshop using downloaded images from the Star Wars lego website. The iron on transfer paper was super easy to use. Just load it into the printer and then iron onto the shirt.

At the end of the party everyone went home with a Star Wars Lego treat bag.

There was of course a little Lego minifigure in each bag with candy and more treats.  These minifigures are so cool.  You never know what you're getting but that's half the fun of it. I think they were my favorite part of the entire party.

Overall the day was a success.  Everyone went home happy, full and worn out.  Happy Birthday Myles my little man.

 Credits go to:

My husband who helped me with everything.  We wouldn't have had Jedi T-shirts or Galactic pizza if it wasn't for him.

My friends for helping us make this such a memorable day.

Epicurious where I found the Wookie Cookie recipe.

The Star Wars Lego website where I found all the wonderful imagery for this party.  It's really a great website to just browse.  They have tons of videos, online comics and games.  It's very well done.

Note: Since I used trademarked illustrations and logos from Star Wars lego I cannot sell this party in my store.  It was fun to do regardless and I know Myles had a great time so that's all that matters.

    1. Thanks so much. I can't share any of these with the public. They were for our personal use and I've posted it for inspirational purposes only. I'm really sorry I would if I could, but I can't.
