I know these are called cookies but they are more like a toffee/brittle type thing. They are super easy and soooo delicious. If you like salty and sweet then you will love these buttery, salty, sweet little confections.
Here's what you'll need |
1 cup butter (2sticks, unsalted)
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar (light or dark, I've used both)
12oz package semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (I like slivered almonds but you can use walnuts or pecans)
Heat the oven to 400 degrees.
step1 |
Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and layout the crackers so they cover the entire bottom of the pan. If you have to break a few to make them fit that's fine.
step2 |
step3 |
Pour the mixture over the crackers in the pan. Try to spread it around with a spatula and cover the crackers without moving them out of place.
step4 |
step5 |
step6 |
Once the chocolate is completely cooled you can cut them or break them into 1to2 inch squares and serve. These keep very nicely in a container or plastic bag for about a week.
So yummy. Hope you enjoy!
