The experience was beyond what I expected. There were 40 mothers, beautiful decorations, delicious desserts, and a showering of gifts. It was amazing and so touching!
All the adorable printable party decorations were designed by Hostess with the Mostess.
These cute ducky/ tub center pieces were tirelessly assembled by Kiesha Sibert (Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams). I have to give her credit because she spent the better part of a day blowing up the balloons for this. It was totally worth it, they were precious.
Then there was the beautiful dessert table styled by Chris Nease (Celebrations at Home) and Katie Wells (Petite Social). So sweetly done.
This gorgeous cake was designed by a local DC baker, Fresh Bakes. It was so scrumptious, my mouth is watering just looking at it.
I just love the sweet details on the umbrella and the elephants.
These adorable coordinating fondant toppers were from Two Sugar Babies.
Even the duckies were edible white chocolate.
The chocolate dipped S'mores by Fondant Flinger were a huge hit.
My personal favorite where these beautifully delicious chocolates by Anna Shea Chocolates. Just as yummy as they were lovely.
These adorable sugar cookies were designed by Firefly Confections. Another thing that was almost too pretty to eat and they were one of the first things to disappear.
How cute are these bags of caramel corn from Just Pop in!
Last but certainly not least there were gifts galore for all the mothers and babies donated by Babies R Us, a raffle table filled with lots of great prizes.
Then the signature shower in a box packed full of goodies for mom and baby.
But the most wonderful thing of all was seeing every mother walk through the door and smile. The huge grin they had as they opened their shower in a box. The volunteers cuddling with sweet little babies so Mom's could eat or decorate bibs. The father who came in uniform alone after his wife had an emergency C-section the night before to deliver twins. The feeling of accomplishment after everything is done when one day ago you thought there's no way we'll be ready in time. Okay I can't pick just one thing.
It really felt good to be able to help those military mom's feel special for a day. Thank you Operation Shower for letting me be a part of it all.
